Diana My Tran was born and raised in Vietnam.  She immigrated to the U.S. in 1975, with her husband and parents-in-law, days before her first child was born.  Today, she is a successful designer and dress-maker in Washington, D.C.  Her recipes have appeared in newspapers nationwide.  She is also the author of The Asian Diet: Get Slim & Stay Slim the Asian Way (Capital, 2002).

Steve Raymer, four-time winner of the White House News Photographers' Association photo contest, named Magazine Photographer of the Year by the National Press Photographers Association, is a former National Geographic photographer.  He now teaches photojournalism at Indiana University in Bloomington.
